Description:
Araucaria, also called Norfolk Island Pine, is an evergreen decorative tree. It has neat, layered branches and soft green needle-like leaves. It looks like a pine tree but it is not a true pine. Small plants are often grown indoors for decoration, while in nature the tree can grow very tall with a straight trunk and branches forming a pyramid shape.

Light:
The plant grows best in bright but indirect light. It can handle a little direct sunlight, but too much strong sun can damage the leaves.

Watering:
Water the plant moderately. Keep the soil slightly moist but not too wet. In winter, water less often.

Soil:
Use well-draining soil. A mix of normal potting soil with some sand or organic matter works well.

Temperature:
Araucaria grows well in mild to warm temperatures. Protect it from very cold weather and frost.

Humidity:
It likes moderate humidity. If kept indoors, spraying a little water on the leaves sometimes can help.

Fertilizing:
Use a balanced fertilizer once a month during the growing season, especially in spring and summer.

Pruning:
The plant usually keeps its nice shape naturally, so pruning is not needed much. Only remove dry or damaged branches.

Placement:
It can be grown in indoor pots, living rooms, offices, balconies, or gardens in warm areas. It is also sometimes used as an indoor Christmas tree for decoration.
