Aloe vera is a succulent plant with thick, green leaves that contain a clear gel. This gel is often used for medicine and skin care. The plant grows in a circular (rosette) shape and stores water in its leaves, which helps it survive in dry conditions. It originally came from the Arabian Peninsula but is now grown around the world. Aloe vera is easy to grow and can be kept indoors in pots or outdoors in warm places.
Care Instructions:
Light: Aloe vera likes bright light but not very strong direct sunlight. A sunny window is a good place for it. Too little light can make the plant weak and stretched.
Watering: Water the plant well but not very often. Let the soil dry completely before watering again. In warm months, watering every 2–3 weeks is usually enough. Water even less in winter. Too much water can damage the roots.
Soil: Use soil that drains water quickly, such as cactus or succulent soil. Soil mixed with sand or perlite works well.
Temperature: Aloe vera grows best in warm temperatures between 13–27°C (55–80°F). Keep it away from frost or very cold weather.
Humidity: It prefers low to normal humidity. Spraying water on the leaves is usually not needed. Too much moisture can cause fungal problems.
Fertilizing: Use a small amount of balanced fertilizer in spring and summer. Fertilize lightly about once a month or less.
Pruning: Remove yellow, dry, or damaged leaves to keep the plant healthy. Cut the leaves from the base of the plant.
Placement: Aloe vera grows well in pots indoors, on kitchen windows, balconies, sunny patios, or warm gardens. Always use a pot with good drainage.
