Botanical Name: Asparagus densiflorus / Asparagus setaceus
Description:
Asparagus fern is a beautiful green plant with soft, feathery leaves. It stays green all year. Even though it is called a fern, it is not a true fern. People grow it indoors, in gardens, or in hanging pots because it looks full and fresh and helps improve air quality.
Light:
Needs bright light but not direct sunlight. It can also grow in partial shade.
Watering:
Water the plant regularly so the soil stays slightly moist. Do not let the soil become completely dry.
Soil:
Use well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter.
Temperature:
Grows best in warm temperatures. Keep it away from cold weather and frost.
Humidity:
Likes humid air. Spraying a little water on the leaves sometimes helps indoor plants.
Fertilizing:
Use a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season.
Pruning:
Cut off yellow or dry stems to keep the plant neat and healthy.
Placement:
Good for indoor pots, hanging baskets, balconies, shaded gardens, and garden borders.
